Our Course of Actions

For conservation of global environment
We strive to contribute to energy and resource conservation as well as reduction in emission of greenhouse gasses throughout the entire process of procurement, manufacturing, distribution and disposal by developing of environmentally friendly products and systems.

For formation of recycling-oriented society
We strive to reduce the waste that comes out of our business activities as well as after our product ends its life-cycle by promoting "reduction", "reuse" and "recycling" of the waste.

For sustenance of biodiversity
We strive to reduce the use of and to seek alternative substances for chemical components that have negative impact on global organism and environment. Also, we strive to contribute to preservation of marine environment as well as realization of sustainable fishery through development and provision of products and systems that contribute to optimization of fishery and marine resource management.

Fostering the corporate culture to seek to co-exist with environment and society
We strive to promote environmental communication, namely, on top of making our environmental policy and subsequent activities and accomplishment transparent to the society, we are determined to actively communicate with our stakeholders in order to enhance the trust. Also, in order to fulfill our social responsibility through environmental activities, we seek to foster the human resource that adheres to the legal obligations in terms of environmental protection in connection with our business activities, hence seeking co-existence with the society and taking proactive stance on the activities that benefit the society and the local community.

Status of ISO14001 Certification ( As of November 2011 )

Miki Factory:
(manufacturing of fishing equipment, navigation equipment, radio communications equipment.)
Engaged in full-scale implementation of environmental management systems since 1998 and acquired ISO14000 certification at the end of 1999.

Nishinomiya Office:
(R&D and corporate headquarters)
Began preparations in 2000 and obtained ISO14000 certification in March 2001.

FURUNO INT Center:
(development, manufacturing, and sale of industrial and medical equipment)
Obtained ISO14000 certification in August 2003.
