FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD. is pleased to announce that FURUNO KOREA CO., LTD. (FKR), a new fully-owned subsidiary company is established and starts its operation on the 1st of April 2013 in the center of Busan city, Republic of Korea.
FURUNO has been viewing Republic of Korea as one of the most important locations strategically for business activities for the merchant marine market segment. This is because of its large and potential shipbuilding industry as well as bright future perspective in the growing offshore market segment. The establishment of FKR embodies the enthusiasm of FURUNO towards the Korean market, which can be seen as its determination to further strengthen the business relations with the Korean customers as well as to speed up the decision-making process by having direct, face-to-face contacts with them on a more frequent basis. The main task of FKR will be to take good care of marketing activities and technical supports in the merchant marine field with strong emphasis on new building as well as retrofitting projects, promising the provision of fine service and good quality results. Also, FKR will seek to reinforce FURUNO's foothold in growing offshore market there in close collaboration with the head office in Japan.
It is needless to say that the responsibility of FKR goes beyond the boundary of the Korean market sphere. FKR will be acting as one of the central organs of FURUNO's network of worldwide service organization, composed of FURUNO's head office and subsidiary companies, national distributors and service agents. Through establishment of FKR, it is strongly believed that FURUNO, with unwavering determination and conviction, will be able to further solidify its service provision scheme in a wider global framework, hence earning further confidence from the shipping industry around the globe.
