This notice is applicable to Shore Based Maintenance Agreement holders signed by FURUNO. According to the manufacturer, Mitsubishi Electric TOKKI Systems Corporation, of the subject model, it found the following problem regarding the auto release device TEB-701 for the “EPIRB, Model: TEB-700”.

Malfunction details
It has been found that the auto release device may not disengage from the EPIRB body when a particular posture is kept. This is caused by a variation in the dimension in the metal sheet (a part of the “inspection window”) due to a processing defect. To resolve this malfunction and to prevent further issues, FURUNO will replace, free of charge, all parts which have the following serial numbers.
