Furuno Electric Company has found that the FA-170 AIS (Automatic Identification System) contains a defect that exhibits the symptoms that are described below. Description of the defect
In the sea area within 1.5 nautical miles from the ship equipped with the FA-170, interference or desensitization on the voice communication occurs on the CH 84, 85, 2084 and 2085.
