NewUnauthorized Access to Our Server (Final Report)

As previously disclosed on our corporate website in the notice dated June 30, 2025, titled Unauthorized Access to Our Server (Initial Report), our server under management was subject to unauthorized access by a third party. Subsequent updates were provided in the Second Report dated July 14 and the Third Report dated August 7.

Following the recognition of the incident, we promptly established an emergency response headquarters and, with the cooperation of external cybersecurity experts, have completed our internal investigation. We hereby report the final determination of the impact and the measures taken to prevent recurrence, as outlined below.

We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience and concern caused to all parties involved.

Secondary Damage

We continue to monitor social media and the dark web for any signs of data dissemination or misuse. As of the date of this report, no secondary damage such as identity theft or unauthorized use of potentially leaked information has been confirmed.

Impact on Furuno Group Products

As of the date of this report, no unauthorized access has been confirmed to servers related to product development, manufacturing, or cloud services. There is no impact on the use of our group’s products or cloud services.

Cause and Preventive Measures

Cause

We received a forensic investigation report from an external cybersecurity firm. The report revealed that the unauthorized access was conducted using an unknown method, involving highly concealed malware customized for our IT systems. We have determined that this was a sophisticated cyberattack.

Preventive Measures

Based on the actual circumstances of the unauthorized access incident and the factors that led to the damage, we will implement the following main measures to prevent recurrence:

  • Review of network management system and strengthening of communication restrictions
  • Strengthening of administrator privilege management and enhancement of unauthorized access detection
  • Enhancement of response capabilities through improved collection and analysis of threat information
  • Review of internal related regulations and thorough implementation of information security education

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to our business partners, customers, and all stakeholders. We take this incident seriously and will continue to strengthen our information security framework and implement robust preventive measures.
